There are currently very few activities for children and young people in the village outside of school activities. There is a growing need for such activity with increasing households in the village. The project will provide facilities to host activities of many different types in a safe and welcoming space.
Currently the Main Building has poor disabled access, no toilets and is not in a suitable condition for events to take place. By joining the two buildings together
and refurbishing the under utilised church we can change it from a worship area to a multi- purpose community building thus meeting the needs of the village.
We intend doing this in three phases:
The proposed changes will make the building more accessible and usable for a wider range of activities. The new entrance area will include access to both buildings, disabled toilet facilities, baby changing facilities and a meeting room. This will give users:
The addition of a meeting room will allow us to utilise the two back rooms for storage, giving us greater flexibility with the use of the Main Building. The new meeting room will be more inviting for creative thinking and counselling sessions.
In addition, having a range of rooms accessible without going outside will allow different uniformed organisations to meet at the same time in one venue and allow larger events to run breakout sessions.
Thank you to all those who have donated so far.
